The Meadow Chapter 1

The Meadow : Oneshot

Odd leaves for a war, leaving Aelita behind.

They stood silently in the meadow, hand in hand. She looked at him with tear-stained eyes and he - a look of guilt. The wind blew causing the flowers to wave around in the sun, her dress flowing as well.

"Does it have to be this way..." She said, though not a question.

The tears slowly ran down her cheek and eventually dropped onto the field. The boy would not cry, oh no, no matter how much pain and despair he was feeling. He looked into her eyes and he could see her pain, the pain he was causing her. He looked into those red, puffy eyes only to see the reflection of himself.

Yes, she loved him.

He loved her.

He held her hands firmly and lowered his head, causing her sobs to grow louder. She was aching inside.

Her tears, her sobs, choking her. She wriggled her hands out of his and turned away as she dare not look at him.

"Go." She said, still crying loud.

He looked up at her, inflicted by her words, he did not speak.

Her hands tightened as she tried to stop herself from releasing her feelings.

"Go!" She yelled. "Go now!"

He reached out his hand to give her one last embrace, but hesitated and walked away.

Her heart pounded harder each time she heard the flowers rustle and crack underneath his feet. He was going away, and her attempts to stifle her tears proved futile. When she could no longer hear his presence, she broke down and fell onto the ground. Each sob louder than the last, she held her chest afraid that her heart would burst.

"Go..." She repeated.

The flowers sparkled in the sun, they were wet with her tears.

I love you...



Each day passed slowly, but to them both it was like an eternity. Everyday she grew more worried than the last, everyday she would come back to that spot in the field. She wo... Not enough points to view full story!
